• Aircraft owner/ operator- gets advertising and reading rights for 365 days from the day of payment for 1 aircraft
• Passenger – gets reading rights for 365 days from the day of payment for all empty legs advertised
• Broker company – gets advertising and reading rights for 365 days from the day of payment for X aircrafts
What is an “empty leg”: Empty leg is a specific private aircraft flying a certain leg of a journey without passengers, for example because of returning to a home base or moving to a destination where passengers are to be picked up. The price of an empty leg is up to 70 % lower in comparison to the original price of a private flight.
If you fly regularly by private jet, then chances are you might have taken an empty leg flight before. If a customer books a private flight the aircraft will potentially need to fly to another destination to pick up its next client. Therefore, this connecting flight (known as a ferry) is the ‘empty leg’ of a one-way private chartered flight.
Empty leg flights will have a pre-determined aircraft type, departure date and time, and destination. The details of an empty leg flight generally will not be released until a few days before it is due to depart.
